What
is a Listserv all about?
A listserv is an automated system for distributing emails to member
addresses stored in a central database. As a member, you are automatically
entered into this database, and should start receiving emails right
away. The listserv is one way the officers and NOVA volunteers communicate
with the whole membership. NOVA members usually receive a weekly email
on track workouts and other activities notifying the members that
they should check the web site for more details. Otherwise, emails
are sent out on an as-needed basis (for special events, races, happy
hours, etc.)

The following are some key points on Policy and Procedures
Nova has been keeping in practice throughout the years in order to
have some guidelines to follow, specifically for the benefit and respect
of our members privacy.

Etiquette
The listserv is is broadcast list of private email addresses
of ALL NOVA members. It is basically a bulletin board for information
relating to NOVA RC running events, and as a mean of promoting club
activities. Therefore, please, respectfully refrain from using the
club listserv as your personal Media, to contact other individual
(s) in the club or as an advertising medium. We know it's tempting
to just send a note to the listserve but it's caused some members
to 'delist' themselves in order not to get 'spammed' or because they
don't care to be bothered with issues they are not interested in.
Many
members are well intentioned in their individual/personal effort in
coordinating events, etc., and we really appreciate their enthusiasm.
However, too many information coming from different sources, sometimes
without much explanation, has been causing membership confusion. That
said, if you'd like to coordinate an activity, pass on information
regarding a race (non-official Nova event) etc. we ask that you please
contact me andresah@iadb.org FIRST. I will consult with the Board
members to get the 'ok' and we'll do our best to see it through.
Warning
From our Listserve Administrator: if you continue on your
own, don't abide by the general guidelines, you will receive a note
from him and your posting rights may be revoked. Our Listserve administrator
and technical person is Matt Wade, he is officially authorized to
send individual notes if need to.

If you change your email address, contact information or wish to be
dropped/added to the listserv, please email

are the only authorized people to make changes in the club's Listserve.

do I find out about upcoming races and other Nova events?
You can go to the NOVA Calendar within
this website.
How can I update my personal information?
To keep getting the emails and newsletters, it is important that you
let us know of any change in your personal information. You can go
right now to the Member Information
Update Form within this website, fill out the form with your new
information, and submit it. Or, send an email to Andresa Hart by clicking
here and sending an email to
let her know what information needs to be changed.
How do I submit my Race Results?
You can go right now to the Race Results
Form within this website.
How do I let Nova know that I volunteered for a Race?
Go right now to the Race Results Form
within this website but put in the comments section the fact that
you volunteered, and did not run. Your participation will be noted.
